DE UTRECHT

In the heart of Friesland, De Utrecht shines as a hidden gem, a masterpiece of Jugendstil architecture from 1904. Recently restored and renovated in 2021, this building has found a new purpose as a platform for art and creativity. Art professionals are invited to share their unique perspectives, turning De Utrecht into a hotbed of artistic expression and innovation.

The art exhibitions in De Utrecht are given a personal touch thanks to Tom and Jonathan, who add video and photography portraits of the artists to the exhibitions. This addition provides an intimate glimpse into the lives and work of the talented individuals channeling their creative energy into De Utrecht. With its modest setup, De Utrecht not only invites visitors to admire art but also to discover the stories behind the artists, making the building a vibrant meeting place for artists, designers, and writers.

Maartje Korstanje lives and works in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In the Zeeland countryside, the sculptor constructs sculptures comparable to a monk. Among the trees, surrounded by vastness, the terrain has the character of an expansive and inviting laboratory for art, experimentation, and all that grows.
